Springfield (MO) Branch
American Association of University Women (AAUW)
AAUW advances equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, and research.

 President:  Samantha Hammons

Springfield, Missouri's third largest city, is located in Greene County in the southwest quadrant of the state.  The Springfield AAUW Branch was formed in 1908 and celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2008 with a luncheon meeting held at Drury University.  Marsha Koch, president of AAUW of Missouri, welcomed guests and introduced the branch members.  Shirley Breeze, director of the Southwest Central Region (AR, KS, MO, OK, TX), presented the branch with a certificate of recognition and congratulations from the national office.  Following the luncheon, a PowerPoint presentation of The First 100 Years was shown in Olin Library.
Membership in the Springfield Branch is open to all graduates who hold an associate or equivalent degree or higher from a qualified educational institution (those that offer recognized associate, baccalaureate, or high degrees and that have full regional or appropriate professional association approval).  Until graduating with that degree, a student affiliate may participate in all AAUW activities except for holding office or voting.  For further information, contact Samantha Hammons
